Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it tends to hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. auto vacuum allows the robot to access low-profile furniture making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or in a series. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and understand and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect if the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has many features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has a number of functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
