Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one time without the need to change devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.

automatic vacuum 's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has many features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great method to keep your home cleaner for longer.

There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
